When we were first contacted to do the personalized wedding favors for this exclusive in Athens, Greece, we were excited to bring their vision to reality. What made this wedding so unique and special was the hybrid mix of modern with traditional.
The bride and groom were Palestinian and Greek, and they wanted to make sure their cultures and backgrounds were embodied in the gifts that were given out.
Wedding Planner and Creative Designer, Ageliki Karnachoriti from Eclectic Events helped bring their vision a reality with a logo design that would be repeated and reflected in the wedding cards and stationery, as well as the customized wedding gifts.
The design, "Two birds in Love" were "created for Ereeni & Zayd, inspired by a Palestinian pattern, very similar to Greek Knitted rugs and table clothes Giagia Style, that made quite an impression. This created a warm and authentic connection with all international guests before the wedding." noted Ageliki.
The couple held the wedding in Athens, Greece, where family and friends flew to join the bride and groom in their special ceremony. The couple wanted each person attending to leave the wedding with a keepsake that would speak to their hybrid experience. The wedding favors were a custom organic cotton tote bag with the "Two Birds in Love" logo design imprinted, a 3-soap handmade gift set with their names and embroidered design personalized on the box, with an added wrapped set of a large Olive Oil soap bar with an Oak Wood Soap Dish.
The production of these gift sets was each made by refugee women in Jerash, Refugee Camp and helped create a combination of 2000 hours of work for over 10 Artisans.
Ageliki explains, "Loving & Caring is universal, so, we blended tradition, different cultures and an ethnic “aroma” into Ereeni’s & Zayd’s beautiful story. It was quite amazing to watch people who came from Palestine, Jordan, Dubai, and California, USA to celebrate their LOVE with them, in beautiful Greece!"
