A Call For Collective Action and Refugee Dignity

 Ukraine and the Global Refugee Crisis

The refugee crisis that Ukrainians now face is yet another reminder that to be a “refugee” is not a personal identity or choice tied to an ethnicity, country, region or religion; it is an experience of being forced from home. Anyone can become a refugee at any given time. 

As forcible displacement becomes a reality for millions of people each year, SITTI continues to find ways to support the global refugee community. While our enterprise is small, we do not underestimate the capacity for collective advocacy and action. We hope that global powers -  public and private - will work together to take responsibility, support and protect refugees, and ensure access to vital resources to maintain self-reliance. 

This is why we are members of the Refugee Self-Reliance Initiative (RSRI). As active members of the RSRI, we stand in solidarity with refugees globally. We support our RSRI partners in their joint efforts to create informed and durable solutions for the restored dignity of refugee communities, from Palestine to Ukraine.

And we call on our customers to do the same.
