Connecting a couple’s roots through their wedding favors.
“When planning our wedding we struggled with searching for favours that represented us as a couple. We wanted our guests to take home something that we loved and that they could really use. Most couples give out chocolate or some type of sweets but we wanted to give something different. After hearing from a friend about Sitti soap, I did some research and saw that they had done wedding favours for couples before. I instantly knew that it would be the perfect gift to give to our guests. Especially since my husband is Palestinian himself and born in Jordan. This hit home for us.” - Dina Kadray
When Dina first contacted us to inquire about wedding favors, we knew that picking Sitti Soap for her wedding favors wasn’t a random decision. The connection to our handmade olive oil soap was a connection that recognized the ancestral and familial ties to both Palestine and Jordan. Our soaps are made by Palestinian Refugee Women who live in the Gaza Refugee Camp in Jerash, Jordan – the connection brought together gifts that would give light and honor Dina’s husbands roots, Salah Al-Misleh which was so important to them.
Their wedding was held in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada at The Westin Nova Scotian surrounded by gorgeous blue skies in the presence of their friends and family. We couldn’t be happier to see such a beautiful set up with Sitti’s Natural Olive Oil soap placed so elegantly at their wedding.
The couple’s love is undeniable and we wish them a lifetime of blissful days ahead. We want to thank Dina Kadray and Salah Al-Misleh for having us be part of their wedding, even in a little way.
The couple decorated the small olive oil soap bars with a simple golden ribbon to match their wedding theme which was placed on the table by the cutlery on every seat. It was a special touch to say, ‘thank you’ to each guest that joined them that day.
Dina expressed later on the reaction of her guests with their gifts from the wedding:
“Our guests absolutely loved the soaps, we had so many people calling and asking us where they could purchase more. I can now say that I am a daily user of Sitti soap, it leaves your skin baby soft and is the best facial soap to wash off makeup after a long day. “
