ard series collection: chamomile olive oil soap

ARD is the Arabic word for ‘earth’ or ‘land’. Each soap within the ARD collection is made from all-natural ingredients and a connection to the land of our refugee community in Jerash, Jordan. This collection signifies the importance of the meaning of ‘land’ to refugee and displaced communities around the world and pays tribute to the beauty and the memories left behind in the pursuit of a brighter future.

The ARD blog series shares the backstory behind creating each soap in our ARD Collection, as well as the unique characteristics of each bar and ingredients.

Introducing Sitti’s Chamomile Olive Oil Soap featured in the Ard collection

Sitti’s Olive-Oil Soaps featured in the Ard Collection are completely plant-based and made from sustainably-sourced ingredients. Each soap featured in this collection is unique from one another with the exception of the olive oil derived from the olive oil farms in Jerash, Jordan. Gifted artisans from Jerash Refugee Camp have handcrafted these soaps just for you.  Our Chamomile Olive Oil soap is what we call our 'stress-free' bar because of its soothing lavender scent and relaxing properties that come from the chamomile plant.

What is chamomile?

Chamomile is the common name for daisy-like plants derived from the Asteraceae plant family. Chamomile has been used for thousands of years as an edible remedy for anxiety and upset stomach and has also been used in herbal teas for nausea, heartburn, and other stomach ailments. Additionally, it has amazing benefits for the skin and has been used for centuries in Greece and Egypt to relieve dry or irritated skin.

Benefits of using our chamomile olive oil soap:

Using chamomile on the skin is known to have some amazing benefits. Sitti’s Chamomile Olive Oil Soap is sure to leave you feeling relaxed and soothed after a long day and here’s why:

  1. Reduces redness: Chamomile can help with redness caused by irritation as well as relieve the intense burning feeling of a sunburn.
  2. Decreases signs of ageing: The nutrients in chamomile boost cell regeneration thus reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as scars.
  3. Relieves irritated skin: Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, chamomile soothes sensitive, irritated skin. It can be great for individuals with skin conditions like rosacea. Although our chamomile soap is great for all skin types, chamomile can be especially helpful to those with dry and sensitive skin.
