ard series collection: rice olive oil soap
ARD is the Arabic word for ‘earth’ or ‘land’. Each soap within the ARD collection is made from all-natural ingredients and a connection to the land of our refugee community in Jerash, Jordan. This collection signifies the importance of the meaning of ‘land’ to refugee and displaced communities around the world and pays tribute to the beauty and the memories left behind in the pursuit of a brighter future.
The ARD blog series shares the backstory behind creating each soap in our ARD Collection, as well as the unique characteristics of each bar and ingredients.
Introducing Sitti’s Rice Olive Oil Soap featured in the Ard collection.
Sitti’s Olive-Oil Soaps featured in the Ard Collection are completely plant-based and made from sustainably-sourced ingredients. Each soap featured in this collection is unique from one another with the exception of the olive oil derived from the olive oil farms in Jerash, Jordan. Gifted artisans from Jerash Refugee Camp have handcrafted these soaps just for you. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, our rice olive oil soap is the perfect foamy creamy soap that is nutritious for your skin. Rice bran and rice milk have healing, soothing and repairing properties that are great for those with eczema, rosacea and sensitive skin.
What is rice bran?
Rice bran is a plant and is the hard outer layer of a cereal grain. The oil from the grain is what’s used for medicine in many Asian countries like Japan and India. Rice bran can be used for diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. When applied topically, it can be helpful to those with skin conditions like eczema. Due to the high levels of Vitamin B and E, rice bran is extremely hydrating and protect the skin from pollutants and ageing.

Using rice bran oil on the skin has some amazing benefits. Sitti’s Rice Olive Oil Soap is sure to leave you feeling soothed and rejuvenated.
1. Anti-ageing: Thanks to the Vitamin E in rice bran, it can protect the skin’s barrier from harsh UV rays from the sun that cause wrinkles and fine lines and leave you with a youthful look.
2. Reduces hyper-pigmentation: Rice bran oil can reduce puffiness, dark circles, and uneven skin tone leaving the skin with an overall even skin tone and texture.
3. Softens skin: Rice bran can promote the strength of the skins barrier while the addition of the olive oil retains the moisture in the skin.
