Introducing: Amal's Apothecary

 

What is your brand's purpose/mission?

Our goal is to provide you with all-natural alternatives and organic essential oil blends to live happier and more fulfilling lives!


What makes your brand unique? (What do your consumers love about your products?)

Organic, clean, green, effective, re-fillable glass roller bottles, women-owned and operated.


When did you begin this brand? How was it started? Please share your origin story. (Did you start it after college, from a hobby, etc.)

2018 - It started with trying to find a solution to my kids always getting sick. Lots of research led me to essential oils and more specifically frankincense oil that helps support and boost immune systems. So I started making blends for different things, immune support, fever reducer, trouble sleeping, headaches, tummy aches etc and it grew from there!


Tell us a story that encapsulates the importance of sustainable self-care. Consider any particular situation in which you were able to witness the effects of how your products have helped or empowered others.

A lot of our customers stop using a crutch they had used before for a specific issue. For example, they stopped using perfume and used Citrus Cheer Mist instead. Or they stopped using so much medicine for their headaches and relied on the Tension Roller instead. Some people even quit mascara since their eyelashes grew naturally from the Lash Out Loud lash serum. Stories like this make it all worth it.


How do you define sustainable self-care?

Reusable, no waste, no chemicals, looking after yourself and the world around you.


What is does your sustainable self-care routine involve?

Sustainable skincare and bath products, green cleaning.


What sustainability goals do you have for your company in 2022?

Get decomposable mailers and filler instead of bubble wrap.


What other eco-friendly social enterprises do you admire? Why?

What is your best advice for people aiming to be more sustainable in their day-to-day lives?

Change one thing at a time and start small. Throw out your toothbrush and get a bamboo one. Stop using plastic little baggies and use reusable ones. Take your reusable water bottle everywhere with you!
